Why seek out a Pawn Shop’s services?

There are many different reasons why one might seek out a pawn shop’s services. Having the financial need can be one important reason to visit a pawn shop. Another reason may be if you have things laying around the house which you’d like to sell as soon as possible, a pawn shop is the quickest and easiest way to do so. Lastly, pawn shops often have unique and one-of-a-kind products ranging from jewelry to electronics to musical instruments, which one might enjoy finding and purchasing.

What is the difference between buying from a Pawn Shop or a Retail store?

The main difference, which is the most important difference, is PRICE! Most pawn shops offer merchandise at a fraction of the actual retail cost, no matter what sort of item you are in search of.

What sorts of items can be sold or pawned for top dollar?

Most valuable items can be sold or pawned including scrap gold, jewelry, electronics, musical instruments, work tools and much more. These sorts of items will greatly increase your chances of getting top money when selling or pawning at Hollywood Pawn Shop.

Will I be paid more on Pawn or Sale?

When you sell an item outright, you will definitely get more money versus pawn; obvious reason being that when pawning an item, you are basically getting a loan on collateral and paying a small amount of interest. Outright selling an item doesn’t include any extra fees, which translates to more money in your pocket.

Would I get any discounts if I sell gold in bulk?

Yes. Here at Hollywood Pawn Shop & Jewelry we honor our customers with Cash Bonuses, depending on the amount or quantity of gold a customer brings.

When pawning an item, how many days to I have to reclaim my merchandise.

At the end of four months, the customer is required to repay the loan, plus a small interest, and the collateral is returned. If the customer is not able to pay the entire amount, he/she may pay only the interest due, and the loan will be reassigned for another four months. If the customer does not pay the amount owed or rewrite the loan by the due date plus a 10 day grace period, the collateral is forfeited to the pawn broker.

Is Photographing or Fingerprinting required?

Yes and Yes! Pawn shops are required to obtain a government issued identification from every customer, which they must submit to their local law enforcement. Most pawn shops have cameras, just like any other financial institution, and fingerprinting is required for the protection of our clients.
